The coronavirus pandemic has disrupted our lives greatly. People have suffered directly and indirectly from it. Some people have lost loved ones, some others have been unable to get the care they need. As a former Coronavirus patient I am aware of what this virus is capable of.While we are right to be concerned about the Coronavirus, we need to realise that we will have to co-exist with it for the foreseeable future. This includes providing people access to the care they need.
We take your health and safety, that of your children and our staff very seriously. This means that our first priority is not to harm anyone and this includes ensuring that our services are provided in a safe environment. Several steps have been undertaken to minimise the risk for you and your loved ones:
- Appointment duration has been extended to ensure that consulting rooms are disinfected and aerated after each consultation.
- The number of clinics running at the same time in parallel has been reduced to ensure safe distancing in the waiting areas. At Chase Lodge Hospital families are asked to wait outdoor in the free private car park and will enter the clinic only once they are asked to.
- All staff and families wear personal protective equipment (mask, gloves and gown for healthcare staff and mask for patients and families)
- In some instances the number of family members able to attend the consultation is capped to ensure there is effective social distancing.
- Staff is swabbed weekly for COVID-19
- There is provision of free masks and sanitising products throughout the facilities.
- The equipment used is either single use and disposable or is extensively cleaned with products able to kill coronavirus.
- Families are contacted in advance of the appointment to ensure there are no symptoms suggestive of Coronavirus in any patient visiting the clinics.
